BuildBudget ("we", "us", "our") provides free online tools, calculators, and educational content to help Australians estimate the cost of building a home. We also operate a builder matching service that connects homeowners with licensed builders who can provide quotes.

2. Acceptance of Terms

3. Our Services

BuildBudget provides:

• Builder matching: A service that connects you with licensed builders who may be able to quote on your project

4. Cost Estimates Are Indicative Only

Our calculator provides estimates, not quotes. Actual building costs depend on your specific site, design, builder, materials, council requirements, and market conditions. Estimates should be used as a starting point for budgeting — not as a fixed price. Always obtain at least 3 written quotes from licensed builders before making financial commitments.

5. Builder Matching & Lead Sharing

When you submit your project details and contact information through our forms, you agree that:

• Your information will be shared with builders. We may share or sell your contact details and project information to licensed builders and construction companies in your area who can provide quotes.
• Builders will contact you. One or more builders may reach out to you by phone, email, or SMS to discuss your project and provide a quote.
• We do not guarantee quotes. Sharing your details with builders does not guarantee that any builder will provide a quote, or that any quote will match our calculator estimates.
• We are not a party to any agreement between you and a builder. Any contract, quote, or arrangement you enter into with a builder is between you and that builder. BuildBudget is not responsible for the quality, pricing, timeliness, or outcome of any building work.

6. Builder Verification

We take reasonable steps to verify that builders in our network hold current licences and appropriate insurance. However, we do not guarantee or warrant any builder's work, financial standing, or suitability for your project. You should independently verify a builder's licence, insurance, and references before entering into any contract.

7. No Financial or Legal Advice

Content on this site about grants, stamp duty, construction loans, and other financial matters is general information only. It is not financial, legal, or tax advice. We recommend consulting a licensed financial adviser, solicitor, or accountant for advice specific to your circumstances.

8. Content Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to keep our cost data, grant information, and guides accurate and up to date. However, building costs, government policies, and regulations change frequently. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any content on this site.

9. Your Responsibilities

When using BuildBudget, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about yourself and your project
• Not submit false or misleading contact details
• Not use our services for any unlawful purpose
• Not attempt to scrape, copy, or reproduce our content or tools without permission

• We are not liable for any acts or omissions of builders in our network

• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us (which, for free services, is $0)

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
